ESOA is the world’s only satellite Association driven by the CEOs of its Member Companies. As ESOA Board of Directors, they set the policy and direction of ESOA's work, convening as a General Assembly when required to take decisions on governance, accounts, annual Work Plan and budget. The Board meets five times a year.

The Chair of the Board of Directors serves a mandate of two years. He formally represents the Association in high-level meetings along with the Secretary General and 2 Vice Chairs. The Chairmen supervise the work of the Association, on behalf of the Board of Directors.
