Space Policy Working Group

To lobby to obtain an equal chance for satellite broadband services, especially in the realisation of eEurope;
To promote the role of satellite for pan-European services (conferences, market and educational programmes etc.);
To ensure that satellite services are a key component of the European Space Policy by participating in the relevant fora;
To represent the legitimate interest of European satellite communications operators in IST European or global fora;
To collect and publish aggregated data on the size of the European satellite communications market;
To contribute to the support of the growth of the pan-European market for satellite services taking into account the convergence of audiovisual and telecom technologies;
To contribute to the development of the value-added chain services;
To work towards better positioning of satellite broadband services in the relevant programmes of ESA and the European Commission (in particular R&D);
To promote the satellite interest in the international cooperation programmes of the EU.

Specific topics worked on by this WG include:
