50 Years Celebration - 50 Years of Europe, 50 Years of Satellites

2007 represents 50 years since the establishment of the European Union and 50 years since the launch of the world's first satellite. To mark this occasion and coinciding with its 17th Board meeting and election of its new Chairman, ESOA is organising a high-level event to illustrate the benefits of satellite services for rural areas. The event includes live demonstrations to show satellite delivery of education, health and other services that help expand the Information Society to include EU citizens located outside connected cities and towns. The event also coincides with the Champions League Football Match Final, which will of course be transmitted live by satellite to millions of homes across the globe.
