ESOA congratulates Roberto Viola, new DG Connect

The EMEA Satellite Operators Association (ESOA) congratulates the new Director Generals on their appointment, following last week's announcement by the European Commission.

We especially congratulate Roberto Viola on his appointment as Director-General of DG CNECT and Johannes Laitenberger, new Director-General of DG COMP.

We also thank outgoing Directors-General, Robert Madelin and Alexander Italianer, for their work with stakeholders in the past years and we look forward to continue collaborating with them in their new positions.

The satellite community is committed to working constructively with the European Commission, especially to ensure that Europe achieves next generation broadband and video coverage. We are confident that working together with the new Commission senior team we will enable DG CNECT and DG COMP to work towards these objectives.
