Defence

Most military assets are mobile and need to communicate either on the move or on the halt. As well as vehicle mounted communications systems, troops often require man portable devices and these are therefore constrained by both weight and power considerations.

In many areas where troops operate ‘out of area’, terrestrial communication systems are either not present or severely degraded and Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) communication systems a necessity.  This is particularly the case in jungles, desert and mountain regions.  Modern mobile broadband systems with global coverage, based on a reliable, secure IP architecture enable flexible, effective, and in some cases critical connectivity for Land, Air and Sea Battlefield Management Systems across the globe.
