Satellite communication a sustainable industry at the service of EU citizens

Mr. Christodoulos Protopapas, Chairman of the European Satellite Operators Association (ESOA) participated in this roundtable discussion on satellite communications services on February 2nd 2011, hosted by Mrs Edit Herczog.
With the EUs new competency on space under the Lisbon Treaty and the priority given by Europes 2020 Strategy to the interests of European citizens, this discussion serves to inform decision-makers of the essential role of satellite communications services in delivering on key policy objectives and call for their appropriate recognition in the diverse policy fields.
